We've talked several times about the benefits that walking can provide for your health. Thus walking can improve your mood, relieve stress, lower your blood pressure and more. There are few forms of exercise just as good for your body as walking a walk a day. 


Is it also possible to drop a few kilos by just walking the door to go for a walk? You may have already done this, but you have not really realized a difference in your weight so far. Could it be that you do something wrong?

  • Walking is a great way to connect some extra calories and consume carbohydrates before being stored by the body in the form of fat.
  • By walking every day and keeping your heart rate high, your body will easily build muscle mass and burn excess fat. As you develop more muscle mass and burn more fat, your overall health will also progress.
  • It's true: regular walking causes your metabolism to get faster and your body burns more fat. However, keep in mind that to really benefit from these benefits you should also keep in mind what you eat and keep your consumption of fatty foods, refined flour, commercial and processed foods, candy, sugary soft drinks and the like. In short, it is important that you develop a healthier lifestyle.

1. How long should I walk? 




In order to see a difference within two months, it is really important to go for a half hour daily twice a day (in the morning and in the evening).

By walking twice a day, your metabolism continues to work faster throughout the day, thus burning more fat and of course increasing muscle mass. If your goal is only to improve your overall mood and lifestyle, then it is also enough to walk only once a day. In order to be more effective, however, it is really necessary to make two walks a day, preferably not during the hottest moment of the day.

A fast pace of about six to six and a half mile per hour is the best. If you manage to keep up with this rate, you will burn more efficient fat without tiring yourself too much.
The reason why you have to walk so fast is that your body uses up to 60% or 70% of its entire capacity, saving energy faster than fat. And this is trying to prevent you right now. At a slow pace, you have relatively little (and it will not make your jeans fit better).
So try to push yourself to walk one and a half to two kilometers a quarter. Make this your goal! 

3. Note the way you walk


It is important to take into account the way you walk. Keep in mind the following aspects:
  • Larger steps will not make you take those miles faster. Faster walk though.
  • Note the way you move your ankles. When your heel hits the ground, you should only be tense in an angle of about 45 degrees. Nothing more nothing less. If this is not the case then you may be experiencing foot problems at some point.
  • Keep your shoulders relaxed and do not try to keep them cramped.
  • Remember, it's important to keep your head at all times, otherwise you may become dizzy or even be affected by neck pain. Do not forget to keep your eyes focused on walking at a point four to five meters ahead of you. At the same time, this will ensure that you keep your head in a natural and enjoyable attitude and do not put too much pressure on your neck.
  • Make sure you do not move your hips too much and try to move as smooth and of course as possible. It is not your intention to feel tension or inconvenience.
  • And what about your arms? Many people do not know as well what to wear with their arms while walking - should I bend them or just hang my body? What is the best option? The best thing is to keep your arms at a 90 degree angle. It is important to move your arms smoothly and naturally while not walking too far away from your body. It's quite easy to develop a good rhythm, with your left arm moving as you step with your right foot and vice versa.
  • Remember, it's not the intention to make a fist with your hands, because it's sure you can not move your arms freely. Just keep your hands relaxed.

4. Choose a nice area to walk in 




Do not walk in an area where your path is full of stones and gravel. In this case, you could go wrong and get a sprawl or even hollow space. It is wiser to walk on a straight surface.

Also, it is important to wear comfortable and dense shoes to protect your feet as well as possible. Also, remember to wear wide-ranging clothes that breathe well.

One last tip before going out:  if you love to listen to music while walking, be careful. Indeed, headphones can distract you from what's happening around you and it's not the first time that an accident occurs. So be aware of this!
